Commerce City should consult with Greeley before fracking vote
by amy | 10:22 pm, January 24, 2012
Commerce City is twisting itself in knots over whether or not to allow hydraulic fracturing within its city limits. The City Council delayed the moratorium vote for another month so it could discuss the issue further according to reports from 9 News.
Commerce City officials would be wise to head north and seek counsel from Greeley. [...]
Yes Gary, we’re thrilled!

Part three in a series responding to a Denver Post guest editorial titled “Is Colorado addicted to oil?” from Gary Wockner of Clean Water Action.
The impetus for Wockner’s column seems to be a comment from Governor John Hickenlooper regarding the recent announcement from Anadarko Petroleum about increased investment in the Wattenberg Field due to the [...]
Is Colorado “addicted” to economic activity?
by amy | 8:39 am, December 6, 2011
Part two of a series responding to a Denver Post guest column titled “Is Colorado addicted to oil?” from Gary Wockner of Clean Water Action.
Gary Wockner’s editorial is long on conjecture and short on facts. It’s little more than 20 questions, which could be answered if Wockner bothered to do a modicum of research. I [...]
Are you “addicted” to civilization?
by amy | 8:28 am, December 5, 2011
The Denver Post gave Gary Wockner of Clean Water Action prime newspaper real estate in Sunday’s perspective section. Wockner’s guest editorial “Is Colorado Addicted to Oil?” was nothing more than a list of typical anti-fossil fuel questions that he tried to associate to Colorado’s and Weld County’s economic struggles as a result of the Great [...]

by Amy Oliver | 5:06 pm, October 29, 2010
Sources confirmed that the reported incident of voter enticement by someone representing the Democrat party did occur in Weld County. The Weld County District Attorney’s office is reviewing the case to see if offering postage or falsely telling voters that it is their last day to vote is a violation of state statute.
The incident happened [...]

by Amy Oliver | 7:14 am, October 29, 2010
In an email to Clerk and Recorder Steve Moreno, Weld County GOP Chairwoman Karen Pelzer requested an investigation into possible voter enticement by Democrats. Democrat voter turnout is imperative for Congresswoman Betsy Markey to have any chance of winning re-election over GOP challenger Cory Gardner. Right now, Republicans in Weld County hold more than a [...]

Tambor Williams: If you don’t vote for Maes/Williams; you are stupid. Not a thinking person.
by ismith | 5:54 pm, October 20, 2010
I was in attendance on Saturday at the Southern Weld County Republican Breakfast in Fort Lupton to listen to Mark Hillman speak in additon to other candidates running for office. The breakfast takes place on the third Saturday of each month at the Branding Iron in Fort Lupton. The “surprise” candidates included: Cory Gardner, Weld County Sheriff [...]
Tambor Williams for Lt. Gov?
by Amy Oliver | 3:36 pm, August 16, 2010
On my radio show today GOP gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes said his “short list” for Lt. Governor includes someone from Weld County with both executive experience in the Governor’s mansion and legislative experience as an elected member of the Colorado General Assembly. Face the State has speculated that it might be either Senator Kevin Lundberg [...]
Parade watchers a tough crowd for politicians
by Amy Oliver | 2:05 pm, July 5, 2010
Every year I watch the Greeley Stampede Independence Day Parade. Usually, I am half of the broadcast team for 1310 KFKA. This year, Scooter McGee took my place so I could simply enjoy the parade from the comfort of the mobile studio. Because I didn’t have to broadcast, it afforded me the great luxury of observing [...]
