Maine Gov takes aim at renewable energy standard

Apparently Maine, not California (followed closely by Colorado), has the highest renewable energy standard in the country, and Governor Paul LePage wants to get rid of it. According to Gov. In 2004, Colorado voters approved Amendment 37, requiring certain (larger) utility providers to obtain 10 percent of their energy from “renewable” sources, like wind or solar power. And since then, the General Assembly has twice voted to raise that limit, so that it now stands at 30% renewable by the year 2020.
