by Jon Caldara | 11:27 am, August 31, 2012
This year’s keynote speaker at our ATF Party, David Martosko of the Daily Caller, joined me on my TV show to talk about the demise of traditional media, adults having fun, and the encroaching nanny-state.

David K. Williams, Jr.Despite cries to the contrary, the government has more money than it can reasonably spend. How else can one explain an 18 month criminal investigation of an alleged bookmaking enterprise in Jefferson County? (See “Denver-area spor…
San Francisco’s leaders think you suck as a parent.

Today’s dose of statism:San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors, which I believe loosely translates to “City Council,” has banned McDonald’s from giving away toys with Happy Meals within the city. They are not happy that parents are able to make decisions …
Parade watchers a tough crowd for politicians
by Amy Oliver | 2:05 pm, July 5, 2010
Every year I watch the Greeley Stampede Independence Day Parade. Usually, I am half of the broadcast team for 1310 KFKA. This year, Scooter McGee took my place so I could simply enjoy the parade from the comfort of the mobile studio. Because I didn’t have to broadcast, it afforded me the great luxury of observing [...]
HB 1351 – Payday Lending in Colorado
by David K. Williams, Jr. | 9:58 am, April 20, 2010
Colorado HB 1351 would limit the interest rates “payday lenders” can charge. The bill made it out of the House, and now moves on to the Senate. Representative Mark Ferrandino, D-Denver, supports the bill. According to the Denver Post (Payday-loan bill passes in House), Rep. Ferarandino said
“This is about the cycle of debt people find themselves in with payday lending. We’re allowing people to overleverage themselves, causing bankruptcies.”
In other words, we are allowing adults to make their own decisions. Rep. Ferrandino and the supporters of this bill believe they are smarter than the patrons of payday lenders, and want to stop these people from exercising their own judgment.
Oppose this bill. Support freedom.
Thank you John Kefalas: Part II
by Amy Oliver | 9:14 am, March 1, 2010
Once again, I want to extend a big huge thank you to State Rep John Kefalas! As a mom I can’t imagine how I would “manage” raising my kids without the Fort Collins Democrat to make my parenting life easier.
According to Colorado News Agency reporter Debi Brazzale, Kefalas’s legislation HB 1147 will make it a [...]
Independence Institute 7th Annual ATF Party
by T.L. James | 10:03 am, June 21, 2009
As the joke goes, ”alcohol, tobacco, and firearms” is a lousy idea for an overbearing government regulatory agency but a great idea for a convenience store. While we Americans are saddled with the former and prohibited (for our own good, of course) from having the latter, that doesn’t stop the Independence Institute from having an annual fundraiser where they enjoyment [...]
Anti-Stab Knife: Progressive’s Invention of the Year
by zombiehunter | 12:09 pm, June 17, 2009
The central planning geniuses of the Progressive movement have determined yet another way to protect us from ourselves. To really appreciate this, you’ll need a little background on England and knives. Over many years of “sensible gun control laws”, the Leftist Progressives successfully whittled away a Brit’s rights to own a firearm. Any firearm. Interestingly, [...]
