The current Westword cover is eye-catching…in the “what is seen cannot be unseen” sense. Yikes.
9News Laphamizes the Elections
by T.L. James | 8:37 pm, October 29, 2010
I’m guessing this election results page at 9News is merely something published accidentally while they were testing the site for Tuesday, but it’s interesting and amusing (while it lasts online). Will be especially interesting and amusing to compare their “predictions” to the actual results.
Breaking: Coffman Withdraws Support for Maes
by T.L. James | 1:14 pm, September 3, 2010
Hot on the heels of Republican Senate candidate Ken Buck’s announcement, Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CD6) will announce shortly that he is also withdrawing his support for Colorado Governor candidate Dan Maes. Time is running out for Maes to make a decision — SoS Buescher is looking to certify the ballot by close of business today. [...]

This post will be stuck to the top of PPC for the day, as a place to post and discuss the results from Colorado’s 2010 Primary Elections.
Summertime Good for Celebrating Victory for Louisiana Special-Needs Students
by Eddie | 2:37 pm, July 6, 2010
I’ve had a great time lately with the cool (and here in Colorado, I mean “cool”) fireworks shows and water fights. Still, it’s good to be back sharing some more good news about school choice. Yes, I’m behind the curve in letting you know about what Louisiana has done, but better late than never — [...]
New Jersey’s Long Battle for School Choice Stalls: Colorado Still Supports You
by Eddie | 10:51 am, June 22, 2010
About a month ago I brought your attention to the remarkable story from the New Jersey legislature, in which a liberal Democrat committee chairman moved a voucher bill hearing outside after union members hogged all the seats and refused to give up any to children supporting the bill.
Well, today the Wall Street Journal has [...]
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s Courage to Take on Teacher Union Lobby
by Eddie | 11:24 am, June 7, 2010
Good Monday morning (if there is such a thing… well, it’s more likely during summer vacation, anyways!). I spend plenty of time blogging about how Colorado can do a better job in providing education. But to be honest, our problems don’t match up with New Jersey’s.
Thus, I have to compliment New Jersey Governor Chris Christie [...]
SB 191: Devil in the Council’s Details While Harrison Moves Ahead on Evaluations
by Eddie | 10:30 am, May 21, 2010
Yesterday Gov. Bill Ritter signed into law Senate Bill 191. Now all eyes are on the details that will be hashed out by the Governor’s Council on Educator Effectiveness.
The state’s largest teachers union, the Colorado Education Association, carried all the weight of opposing SB 191 and pushed amendments that watered down some of the bill’s [...]
Not All is Good News Out of Florida: Charlie Crist Vetoes Tenure Reform SB6
by Eddie | 2:10 pm, April 15, 2010
Update: Reactions to Governor Crist’s decision are pretty strong, including the Eduwonk giving Crist the ironic “it’s all about the kids” award and Andy Smarick labeling the move “the most disappointing education policy decision by a major Republican officeholder in recent memory.”
Just a short post today: Bad education reform news from the state of Florida [...]
What Kind of Reform Does Race to the Top Want, and Why Am I Not Impressed?
by Eddie | 10:56 am, March 29, 2010
It’s a beautiful day, the sun is shining, and the big news in the education world? Colorado didn’t win any Race to the Top (RTT) federal grant money the first time around. Since only two awards were given out — Delaware and Tennessee of all places were the winners — there should be lots of [...]

Of course not! Why would anyone conclude that errors are geographical? Errors are errors and attempts to reinflate the British economy using the same hot air compressors that we use here aren’t going to work any better over there than they have here.
