U.S. Reps. Salazar and Perlmutter deploy the stimulus smear
by Kelly Maher | 12:26 pm, October 24, 2010
U.S. Reps. John Salazar and Ed Perlmutter of Colorado think they’ve got a winning issue by smearing their Republican challengers with stimulus spending. But it reveals desperation by the Democratic incumbents. See the cringe-inducing video clip of President Obama in July calling out U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., for not supporting the stimulus.

The U.S. Senate race in Colorado is getting more national attention every day. Republican challenger Ken Buck and U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., debated on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” One of our 100 “They Spend. You Pay!” billboards in Colorado was featured in the intro! You can see the billboard image in the video clip at left, as the voiceover described, “Growing anger over government spending and the debt.”
Billboard 100: “They Spend. You Pay!”

WhoSaidYouSaid has launched a billboard campaign with 100 locations in Colorado. The billboards invite citizens to “Stop Payment” on reckless spending by visiting WhoSaidYouSaid.com and send “Stop Payment” notices to officeholders. Federal spending has ballooned to $3.7 trillion, we have a $1 trillion budget deficit and are $13 trillion in debt. It’s time to take action.
Immigration reform failure? Perlmutter blames GOP
by Kelly Maher | 2:25 pm, August 27, 2010
At a recent forum that included Republican challenger Ryan Frazier, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter, D-Colo., tried to blame “41 Republicans” in the U.S. Senate for the failure on immigration reform. Perlmutter’s deflection indicates what’s really needed: a change in leadership, starting in his 7th Congressional District.
Why hasn’t Hickenlooper touted Bennet more?
by Kelly Maher | 3:56 pm, August 9, 2010
Interesting question. . . nobody’s asked it as far as I can tell. Maybe there was little to be gained by Hickenlooper, who’s running for governor of Colorado, making a big push in a contested Democratic Senate primary.
Rep. Perlmutter, what road are you in the middle of?
by Kelly Maher | 5:42 pm, July 24, 2010
“And I try to take what I learned here from my folks, from all of you, from our community, just sort of right down the middle politically, right down the middle financially; try to bring good common sense to making decisions and get this country back on track.” That’s U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter, D-Colo., speaking at the opening of a field office in June. Does Perlmutter qualify as “right down the middle” on political and economic issues? Let’s see…
Pres. Obama and the House Dems: Let Mikey eat it
by Mary Smith | 2:01 pm, July 15, 2010
House Democrats carried Pres. Obama’s senseless economic agenda and now face an almost certain bloodbath in the midterm elections. And the White House is, um, otherwise occupied. “One House Democrat compared their relationship with the White House to the 1970s Life commercials starring ‘Mikey,’ the kid whose brothers trick him into eating the cereal,” The Washington Post reported.

"This mailing was prepared, published, and mailed at taxpayer expense."
by RMR | 12:32 pm, March 4, 2010
As Ed Perlmutter suddenly finds himself at a cash disadvantage, he is turning to the time-honored tradition among endangered Congresscritters of franking. Nothing like gouging the taxpayer to push out some free mailings (complete with a union print sho…
Ed Perlmutter – Rewriting the Constitution One Bill at a Time
by Chuck Moe | 1:08 am, February 4, 2010
I’ve often chastised politicians for not obeying their oath to the U.S. Constitution and I may have to rethink my strategy if they keep pulling “rights” out of thin air faster than the Fed can print fiat currency. It seems Ed Perlmutter (D) from Golden Colorado is trying to follow the Constitution…just not the same Constitution I was thinking of.
