Considering the precarious position the country is in, it’s amazing that Congress looks like it’s going to do everything it can to put off into the future – punt, kick the can, whatever you choose – to avoid making any hard decisions today. I agree with Mark Twain.

The game is rigged. If you can control the conversation, then the results can be predicted. Statist A (Obama) is debating with Statist B (Paul Ryan—sorry!) about just how much we want government to grow. Yup, that’s the question. No shrinking, no cutting, no limiting, no eliminating. That’s how the game is played.

This was hard for me to write as there isn’t much good news. Both the Democrats and the Republicans overwhelmingly have voted to abrogate our rights enshrined in the Bill of Rights. That’s correct: our own elected representatives, who swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, are now guilty of treason by ignoring it and imperiously mandating controls and limitations on citizens never dreamed of in our founders’ worst nightmares.
