Voter enticement in Weld County
by Amy Oliver | 5:06 pm, October 29, 2010
Sources confirmed that the reported incident of voter enticement by someone representing the Democrat party did occur in Weld County. The Weld County District Attorney’s office is reviewing the case to see if offering postage or falsely telling voters that it is their last day to vote is a violation of state statute.
The incident happened [...]
WC GOP suggests Dems enticing voters to turn in ballots
by Amy Oliver | 7:14 am, October 29, 2010
In an email to Clerk and Recorder Steve Moreno, Weld County GOP Chairwoman Karen Pelzer requested an investigation into possible voter enticement by Democrats. Democrat voter turnout is imperative for Congresswoman Betsy Markey to have any chance of winning re-election over GOP challenger Cory Gardner. Right now, Republicans in Weld County hold more than a [...]
The Economist says we matter
by Amy Oliver | 6:21 pm, October 28, 2010
Even my favorite international magazine The Economist knows how important Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West are to both the Republicans and the Democrats. A recent article titled “Rockies: The mile-high battle” explains:
Democrats saw the purpling of bits of this once resolutely red region as particularly significant for presidential elections, since it gave them a [...]

Bennet, Markey, Salazar: Do fish live in the sea?
by Amy Oliver | 7:56 am, September 10, 2010
The Denver Post reports that three Democrat members of Colorado’s congressional delegation oppose Barack Obama’s plan for a $50 billion second stimulus. Those three members — Representatives Betsy Markey and John Salazar along with Senator Michael Bennet — are all involved in tough campaigns to keep their seats in Congress. Bennet’s opposition may be the [...]
Truth in voting: Markey not a fiscal conservative
by Amy Oliver | 6:30 am, September 9, 2010
Betsy Markey continues her assault on the truth about her voting record. In a post titled “More Bailout Baloney,” Fact Check claims that Markey and several of her democrat colleagues are misleading voters with TV ads claiming they voted against TARP:
What they did was vote for a resolution to block the Treasury Department from getting the [...]
They call her flipper, flipper…
by Amy Oliver | 1:28 pm, August 19, 2010
Update to ‘Both Ways Betsy’ where I criticized Congresswoman Betsy Markey for her latest TV ads.
Referring to the 2008 TARP bailout legislation, Markey claims in her ad, “Maybe it’s my 20 years as a small-business owner, but these Wall Street bailouts really offend me… No one ever gave me a bailout.”
I reminded readers of the other bailouts [...]
‘Both Ways Betsy’
by Amy Oliver | 5:10 pm, August 16, 2010
That’s the nickname that my friends at Complete Colorado have hung on freshman Democrat Congresswoman Betsy Markey. And it seems appropriate. An article from The Hill and featured on Complete Colorado describes Markey’s new ad campaign where she pretends to be offended with congressional approval of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act, a.k.a. TARP. In fact [...]
Squirrels get bridges; taxpayers get more taxes…
by Amy Oliver | 1:21 pm, July 12, 2010
In a video appearance before the Western States Transportation Alliance, Congresswoman Betsy Markey “spends the whole beginning of this greeting talking about potential taxes to pay for spending in a surface transportation bill” reports Who Said You Said, which posted the video.
Markey’s implication that taxpayers aren’t sending enough of their money to Washington begs a couple [...]
Parade watchers a tough crowd for politicians
by Amy Oliver | 2:05 pm, July 5, 2010
Every year I watch the Greeley Stampede Independence Day Parade. Usually, I am half of the broadcast team for 1310 KFKA. This year, Scooter McGee took my place so I could simply enjoy the parade from the comfort of the mobile studio. Because I didn’t have to broadcast, it afforded me the great luxury of observing [...]

Of course not! Why would anyone conclude that errors are geographical? Errors are errors and attempts to reinflate the British economy using the same hot air compressors that we use here aren’t going to work any better over there than they have here.
