Bury the Dead, Feed the Living. Shoot the Experts and Put the Kids in Charge.

We don’t need government and idiotic herds of ‘international actors’ to direct our compassion for us. While they compete for air time and talk as if decency only exists as some aggregate function of mobs, the truth is that our best is within us as individual creatures. The seven-year old who figured this out has shamed the pros.
Sometimes Life is Stranger than Fiction
by wesley | 9:16 pm, December 2, 2009
Last week, I started reading George Orwell’s 1984 for the first time. Yes, I know, I’m an uncultured heathen. Deal with it. I’m only about one third of the way in, but Orwell’s already painted a pretty frightening totalitarian society of the future. The below passage struck me as very topical as the Lies of [...]
You Don’t Punch Zombies – Duh!
by zombiehunter | 6:17 am, October 30, 2009
Let’s take a break from Cap ‘n Tax, socialized medicine, and the general shredding of these United States’ Constitution to discusss something of real importance. Iowa has officially dropped to the number 48 position (just above California and New York) on my official list of States Most Likely to Survive a Zombie Attack. From Iowa [...]
If Palin’s Family Is “Fair Game”, What About Obama’s Daughters?
by T.L. James | 9:34 pm, July 8, 2009
The rationalization goes something like this: because Sarah Palin showed her Down’s baby Trig onstage during the GOP convention, and displayed her family at various campaign appearances, she “politicized” them and thereby made her children fair game for all manner of cruel treatment by commentators, pundits, comedians, and bloggers. Does the same standard apply to Obama’s children [...]

Bitter Medicine
by Eileen McGuire-Mahony | 1:08 pm, May 30, 2009
We’ve just gotten back the ArapaHOPE event – a rally for socialized medicine. Our very own Steve T. headed down to the West Steps to record the day in image and interview – which made him the only one who understood why he was there. The sparse crowd was a aging, poorly dressed echo of [...]

I don’t really watch TV, but for those of you who do, it looks like a new Southparkian-like cartoon is up on ABC. Take a look: WWAGD? What would Al Gore Do?
Sheeple Watch #19: Hipness Is What It Is
by T.L. James | 6:29 pm, April 26, 2009
Of course, as Bill Clinton would tell you, it depends on what is is. I don’t know that I’d call what he has “hipness”, as much as I’d call it “the fawning adulation of unquestioning, sheep-like adherents to his cult of personality”. During his first 100 days as president of the United States, Barack Obama [...]
