**Bumped**: Tickets selling quickly, don’t miss this event! Two of my good drinking buddies, libertarian Nick Gillespie of Reason Magazine and social conservative Ann Coulter agree on one thing: I’m a lot funnier after a glass of scotch. What else can we all agree on this year? Find out at our 27th Annual Founders’ Night [...]

Romney Woos Grand Junction, Earns Sen. King’s Endorsement
by Kelly Sloan | 6:50 pm, February 6, 2012
For West Slope voters, Romneys biggest applause line came when he spoke of energy, an issue critical to the economy of the region rich in natural gas, coal, and oil shale. In a speech that mostly stuck to the script of his last several appearances, Romney criticized Obama’s record on energy policy, noting that the current President has kept hundreds of acres off limits for production, while subsidizing so-called “green energy” boondoggles – contrary to his call in the State of the Union speech for an “all of the above” policy.
Sen. Udall: “Legitimate Argument” to build Keystone Pipeline in “National Interest”; Obama Administration Approved 2009 Pipeline for Economic, Strategic Reasons
by elpresidente | 12:34 pm, February 6, 2012
Colorado’s Democratic Sen. Mark Udall and President Barack Obama don’t appear to be on the same page when it comes to the recently sidelined Keystone XL pipeline that the Democratic administration rejected permitting for in January: “‘I think there is a legitimate argument that it’s in the national interest to build the pipeline,’ said Udall, [...]

Mitt Romney will once again win with Colorado’s caucus-going Republicans, 40 to 26 percent over former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum. The President’s Regrettable SOTU
by Kelly Sloan | 11:47 am, January 27, 2012
The most regrettable feature of the President’s State of The Union speech Tuesday was the venture in reductionism that it represented — the shameless dilution of the public discourse into a fallacious, class-warfare infused, “us vs. them” formulation. Nowhere is this more evident than in the economic sophistry of the “Buffett rule”. Obama is counting on a general economic illiteracy to both keep him in the White House, and validate his proposition that the American people are incapable of governing themselves.

by elpresidente | 2:54 pm, January 19, 2012
We’ll have to see what the fizzling “Occupy Denver” folks have planned–“more details will be available soon”–but with only Republicans holding their precinct caucuses on February 7, the potential for things to get interesting could certainly be there, especially at Denver county caucus locations: Stay Tuned for February! by Eileen McGuire-Mahony | 9:00 am, January 16, 2012
FaceBook, a privacy-raping death beast of wide fame, has partnered up with Politico, an semi-upstart publication for Washingtonians and others whose libido is sadly misdirected at subcommittee hearings and such. No, you can’t opt out. What’s being handed from FB over to Politico are your status updates. In theory, all status updates containing the name [...]
