Perhaps I should move to Wyoming – Gov signs sovereignty resolution

by Mr. Bob | 10:27 am, March 20, 2010

by Michael Boldin
This week, Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal signed House Joint Resolution 2 (HJ0002), claiming “sovereignty on behalf of the State of Wyoming and for its citizens under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government or reserved to the people by the Constitution of the United States.”

Freudenthal, a long-time Democrat, was previously a US attorney for the Clinton administration, and is currently serving his 2nd term as Governor of Wyoming. He endorsed Barack Obama for president and is commonly referred to as one of the most popular governors in the country.
In a memorandum sent to the Wyoming legislature in late January, Freudenthal made clear his position that the federal government has gone beyond the limits of the constitution:

“For decades we have shared increased frustration dealing with the federal government and its
agencies. What started out as a leak in the erosion of state prerogative and independence has today turned into a flood. From wolf and grizzly bear management, to gun control, to endless regulation and unfunded mandates – the federal government has become far too powerful and intrusive.”

Obama Surrenders Gulf Oil To Russia

by Mr. Bob | 3:15 pm, March 18, 2010

#peoplespress #globalwarming #marxism #che #socialist #tcot #teaparty
I now believe Washington liberals, aka marxists in my book want to see the destruction of America as the world leader in finance, medicine, farming, inventions, technology and CHARITY.

America, Obama just flipped you the bird…he does not care what you want…he knows better than you.

By
The Obama administration is poised to ban offshore oil drilling on the outer continental shelf until 2012 or beyond. Meanwhile, Russia is making a bold strategic leap to begin drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. While the United States attempts to shift gears to alternative fuels to battle the purported evils of carbon emissions, Russia will erect oil derricks off the Cuban coast.

Offshore oil production makes economic sense. It creates jobs and helps fulfill America’s vast energy needs. It contributes to the gross domestic product and does not increase the trade deficit. Higher oil supply helps keep a lid on rising prices, and greater American production gives the United States more influence over the global market.

Drilling is also wildly popular with the public. A Pew Research Center poll from February showed 63 percent support for offshore drilling for oil and natural gas. Americans understand the fundamental points: The oil is there, and we need it. If we don’t drill it out, we have to buy it from other countries. Last year, the U.S. government even helped Brazil underwrite offshore drilling in the Tupi oil field near Rio de Janeiro. The current price of oil makes drilling economically feasible, so why not let the private sector go ahead and get our oil? READ THE REST

Now it turns out that NASA, who claimed for years that their data proves Global Warming is real, was actually just using CRU data all along. And the CRU couldn’t back up any of its data. In fact, they “lost the records” when they were forced to produce them. Oops!

Almost half of all general-practice doctors would feel compelled to leave medicine altogether if it passes:

46.3% of primary care physicians (family medicine and internal medicine) feel that the passing of health reform will either force them out of medicine or make them want to leave medicine.
36% of physicians would not recommend medicine as a career, regardless of health reform. 27% would recommend medicine as a career but not if health reform passes.

62.7% of physicians feel that health reform is needed but should be implemented in a more targeted, gradual way, as opposed to the sweeping overhaul that is in legislation

Reconciliation: Disdain For The Public, Disregard For Democracy

by Mr. Bob | 9:28 am, March 16, 2010

#teaparty #tcot #socialism #obamacare
I have said this probably 50 times, I knew the Democrats would over reach but I had no clue as to how far and how fast they would run with their majority…..they are tearing the Republic apart, I am praying that the American electorate’s usually short memory won’t be so short this time.

For certain this will change the face of the Democratic party forever.

From M. Medved; The legislative tactic known as “reconciliation” uses a soothing word to mask an ugly reality. Far from the dictionary definition of “restoring to friendship and harmony,” the Congressional term “reconciliation” suggests the spurning of cooperation and the brute use of partisan power. Worst of all, in the case of Obamacare, it also involves a dangerous, destructive violation of democratic principle.
The original idea of reconciliation, first employed in 1980, involved desperate efforts during the Carter era to bring the exploding federal deficit under control –a goal embraced by both political parties. As the New York Times described it (March 7, 2010): “Reconciliation was intended to be a narrow procedure to bring revenues and spending into conformity with the levels set in the annual budget resolutions.” Appropriately, the earliest examples of the procedure drew overwhelming bi-partisan support. In legal settlement, group agrees not to return to state
Thursday, March 11, 2010 2:53 AM
By James Nash
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

ACORN, the liberal group notorious for allegedly trying to inflate voter rolls through fraudulent practices, has seen its last election in Ohio.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now will permanently surrender its Ohio business license by June1 as part of a legal settlement with the conservative Buckeye Institute for Public Policy Solutions, both sides said yesterday.

ACORN was active in Ohio in the 2006 and 2008 elections, working to register thousands of low-income people to vote and get them to the polls. The group’s efforts were marred by irregularities, including one case in which ACORN workers allegedly induced a Cleveland man to register to vote 72 times, offering cigarettes as an incentive.

Colorado Democrats Want to Continue Using Taxpayer Dollars to Promote Themselves

by Mr. Bob | 1:09 pm, March 11, 2010

#redco #tcot #teaparty #localteaparty
From Colorado Senate News.

COLORADO SENATE REPUBLICANS Dems kill proposed ban on elected official promotions

On a party-line vote, Democrats defeated Senate Bill 105, which would have protected taxpayer money from being used to promote elected officials.

“It is important that our citizens know we never use their money to promote ourselves,” said Sen. Bill Cadman, R-Colorado Springs, who sponsored the measure. “We all have campaign funds for that reason.”

The state’s top economists have found that Colorado’s elected officials have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars promoting themselves and their official duties over the past year. In January, an Associated Press report revealed that Democrat Gov. Bill Ritter spent over $200,000 to pay for photographs, videos and TV ads promoting his accomplishments. State Treasurer Cary Kennedy also used her office budget to run TV ads informing the public of the “Great Colorado Payback,” and she featured herself prominently in the commercials.

Cadman said under his bill the state could still spend money informing citizens of the kind of services that are available to them, but elected officials would just be prohibited from making themselves the centerpiece of the promotion.

“Taxpayer funded public service promotions should never be public servant promotions,” Cadman said.

The Dumbing Down of America….Obama counts on it

by Mr. Bob | 3:12 pm, March 5, 2010

Great blog post over at Joy Tiz

Decades of entrusting the federal government with our children’s education has led, inevitably, to the dumbing down of an entire nation. Our public school system has failed to provide the most basic and elementary skills, while at the same time functioning as a ministry of propaganda for left wing causes. The hijacking of our schools has been going on for decades; we are now experiencing the repercussions.

Only in a thoroughly dumbed down America would Barack Obama’s astonishing ignorance of American history have gone unnoticed. Only in a thoroughly dumbed down America could Barack Obama have been elected to the presidency in the first place. A man with no executive experience, deeply disturbing associations, and gaping holes in his history was elevated to the highest office in the land.

Fourteen months into his presidency, with nothing but an ignominious accumulation of failures to show for it, Obama is taking his last stand. The only way he can overcome this mountain of fiascos is if Americans are every bit as dumb as he thinks they are. READ THE ENTIRE POST HERE

Ritter raises taxes by 300 million…anyone adding this up?

by Mr. Bob | 9:50 am, February 25, 2010

#tcot #redco #teaparty
From Colorado Senate News.

By signing into law nine bills that will raise taxes by $300 million, Senate Republicans say Democrat Gov. Bill Ritter effectively ensured the destruction of thousands of Colorado jobs.

During debate over the tax hikes, hundreds of Colorado businesses showed up at the Capitol to oppose the tax bills, saying they were job-killers. A tax hike on energy, for example, will cost Evraz Rocky Mountain Steel Mill an estimated $2 million annually and put 1,000 jobs at risk. Pepsi officials told lawmakers that a new soda tax will jeopardize as many as 800 jobs. A new tax hike on candy threatens 150 workers at Grand Junction confectioner Enstrom’s, and the more than $3.3 million the company spends each year with more than 300 Colorado vendors.

“It is appalling that Democrats can’t find a way to balance the budget that doesn’t involve raising taxes by hundreds of millions of dollars,” said Sen. Greg Brohpy, R-Wray.

Last year, Gov. Bill Ritter and majority Democrats levied $1 billion of new taxes and fees on Colorado families, including a $90 million property tax increase on Colorado seniors; a $30 million tax hike on small businesses; a $225 million-a-year car tax that will raise registration fees by up to $70 per vehicle; a new half-billion dollar tax on the state’s hospitals, and a $40 million tax increase on capital.

Republicans offered an alternative proposal that would have spared Colorado families and businesses from the latest slew of tax hikes by implementing across the board cuts for all state departments and agencies. Democrats elected not to take up the GOP proposal until after the tax hikes had been signed into law, delaying consideration of the bill until March 3. It has been sent to the Senate State, Veterans and Military Affair Committee, which is used by leadership to kill legislation. from – Rachel Boxer Senate Minority Press Secretary

Scott Brown Politics as Usual – votes for more deficit spending

by Mr. Bob | 9:49 am, February 23, 2010

Rather than holding to what he ran on (deficit spending is bad) Brown has voted with the Dems on another massive spending bill…of money we of course don’t have, neither do our children, it has not even been created yet….perhaps Brown thinks we can just print some more and that will be OK? Scott apparently has no idea the kind of trouble our country is in and the kinds of hard decisions that will need to be made….very soon.

Brown is not as the Democrats are saying, the answer to partisan bickering in Washington, he is a progressive Republican…color me unsurprised and unimpressed.

He will be useful for conservatives on occasion I am sure, and I am actually glad he has shown his true colors early so we can stop this silly talk about his great political future.

Hard choices ahead people. While he is better than Democrat….he is still a progressive….he has that cancer and we now should treat him as such.

Those who voted for Scott are feeling quite betrayed…but I remind them we really knew nothing about him .

Democrats In Colorado Vote No On Transparency

by Mr. Bob | 12:42 pm, February 16, 2010

#redco #tcot #unions #publicschools #teaparty

From Colorado Senate News.

Senate Democrats killed a bill that would have required school districts to put their check books online, bringing accountability and transparency to the public education sector.
The measure, Senate Bill 91, would have required public schools to maintain a readily accessible online database that would have outlined district spending. The bill also called for monthly updates and notification of budget changes.

SB 91 sponsor Sen. Ted Harvey, R-Highlands Ranch, said the measure would be most useful in helping balance the state’s budget. “Through transparency we can better identify waste and potential cost savings,” Harvey said. “As we prepare to cut K-12 in order to fill the state’s budget hole, I think a database like this would be extremely useful.”

SB 91 was killed on a party line vote in the Senate State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee today.

“What are Democrats afraid of? What are they trying to hide?” Harvey asked. “Can’t we agree that transparency is a good thing for taxpayer money, especially scarce resources meant to be educating our children?”

Harvey introduced an identical bill last session. It was approved by the upper chamber, but ultimately killed by union Democrats on the House Education Committee.

Raising Taxes in the DNA (good or bad economy makes no diff) of Colorado Senate Democrats

Funny when progressives express faux outrage at a conservative who wants to CHANGE the tax system to be more fair …when they themselves never met a tax increase they don’t like if it is their idea. What a bunch of hypocrites. They love taxes if they hurt business owners (whom they like to refer to as the rich), job creators, risk takers and…well you know the people who provide our jobs.

For instance;

Democrats move tax increases from temporary status to permanent

Dems cop to tax hike, and then re-start dancing on head of a pin

Yesterday the Minority Leader had to give them a lesson in Economics 101…although I doubt it will help…this is what they do. However Republicans would like to get the Democrats more involved in the consequences of their decision to raise taxes by helping business owers choose which workers will lose their jobs;…

COLORADO SENATE REPUBLICANS

GOP to Morse: Who would you fire?

The GOP is asking Sen. John Morse, a Democrat from Colorado Springs, to get specific about which employees should be laid off is a package of tax increases he supported this week become law.

Morse and 17 of his fellow Democrats passed a slew of “dirty dozen” tax increases yesterday that Evraz Rocky Mountain Steel in Pueblo estimates will cost the company $2 million annually and force the company to lay off workers. Pepsi Bottling Co. also expressed concern, telling the Associated Press last week that the tax hikes would jeapordize some 800 jobs.

“We are asking Sen. Morse, Gov. Ritter and all of the other Democrats that voted for the tax increases to tell us which workers they think should be fired so companies can afford to pay higher taxes,” said Sen. Ted Harvey, R-Highlands Ranch.

Republicans — joined by a handful of Democrats in a bipartisan coalition opposing the the new taxes — proposed trimming state spending across the board last week as an alternative to the tax hikes. At the time, Morse, Ritter and Budget Committee Chairwoman Moe Keller ridiculed the GOP’s measured, across the board approach, demanding instead that Republicans identify specific bureaucrats for layoffs and salary reductions..

“The tax hikes Sen. Morse and others supported this week are going to kill jobs,” Harvey said, “So let’s hear some specifics — which Evraz and Pepsi employees does Senator Morse think ought to be fired or take pay cuts?”

The tax increases amount to $335 million and will raise taxes on everything from Big Mac containers and electricity bills to candy and even Internet purchases.

Obama on Health Bill: ‘I Wish We Had Gotten It Done Faster’

From the WSJ Healthcare Blog – my comments in red

It’s still unclear what the Dems are going to do about the health-care overhaul, now that they’ve lost their filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. So much of the health coverage this morning (including the lead stories in the WSJ and New York Times) keys on an interview President Obama gave to ABC News on Wednesday.

Here’s a passage from the interview that gets lots of play in the morning news: My responses to the president’s pleas to keep this train going are in Red.
I would advise that we try to move quickly to coalesce around those elements of the package that people agree on. I don’t think we agree on what we agree on Mr President. We know that we need insurance reform, that the health insurance companies are taking advantage of people. umm, no we don’t know that, most of us are happy with our insurance and think it’s fair. If you want to tweek it to keep costs under control that’s fine but an overhaul is not necessary. We know that we have to have some form of cost containment because if we don’t, then our budgets are going to blow up and we know that small businesses are going to need help so that they can provide health insurance to their families. Whose budget? My budget or the federal government? Is Medicare unsustainable, that’s your problem to fix your broken socialist programs…don’t ask me to pony up for your bad ideas. ? Fix that..streamline, take out waste, bring in some NON-government managers to clean it up, fire people, make it like a real company rather than a bloated bureaucracy. The problem is competition stifling laws (like across state lines) and cost of litigation Mr. President, if those aren’t addressed, you aren’t getting anything passed sir. Those are … some of the core elements of … this bill.

As the papers note, this list notably excludes a mandate that everyone buy health insurance READ THE ARTICLE HERE

No room for Pro-Lifers in the Democratic party and Bart Stupak just found that out. Among the trillions of dollars in this record budget, Obama deleted a 1 million dollar scholarship for Olympic athletes named after the late son of Bart Stupak.

According to RedState, Congress funds a $1 million scholarship fund at Northern Michigan University for aspiring Olympic athletes. Robert Costa notes the scholarship was renamed in 1998 for Bart Stupak’s son who had committed suicide. However, it seems the new Obama budget of $3.8 TRILLION, that adds $1.6 TRILLION to the deficit kills this scholarship.

In the case of the first two, you have to wonder if Democratic leadership has already signed off these two seats as Republican pick-ups. As for the last four (and possibly others), they’ve handed a giant issue to their opponents or potential opponents.

Why MSNBC Has Tiny Viewership – Exhibit 1 – Chris Matthews – racist

You know, I’ve said for years (decades actually) that it is the left in this country in the media and in Washington (not your average Dem, but the ones that control the party) that can’t get past race and last night Chris Matthews spewed a line that would get any conservative ran out of town on a rail. It is so unbelievably demeaning towards people of color, I am still stunned.

I’d like to welcome Chris Matthews to the 20th century….. apparently unlike most people he and his lefty media type cohorts have never experienced NOT thinking about someone in terms of race before. Welcome Chris to where the rest of America has been since 1970…. or earlier.

Obama has revealed himself to be a far left socialist who wants to bring his radical views (and his radical friends) into main stream politics. That is why the more we know, the more we oppose him….period. Unlike liberal lunatics a.k.a MSNBC hosts, we don’t care what color he is, we never have. Are there some bigots who did…yes I am sure there are, but something tells me they must be Democrats, cause I don’t know any Independents or Republicans (the party of Lincoln) who think this way.

The statement in the video below speaks for itself, but keep in mind he is talking to Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann…who don’t object….they understand what he means.

For the context watch the whole video but for the kicker, listen to Chris Mathews (at 3:30 in the vid) harken back to the old days when they could buy votes from people on the street and laments they can’t do that any more…I am not kidding. Here is what he said.

“You know in the old days…if the Democrats faced this kind of a disaster in the works, you`d go back to your ones, the people you were sure are going to vote Democrat, and you`d make sure they got to the polling place,” Matthews told NBC’s Chuck Todd on Friday’s “Hardball.”
“You`d get them lunch, you`d get them a car. You`d make sure they got there, and in some cases you`d be buying people to get them,” he continued. “But I hear talking to somebody today there aren`t people up there in Massachusetts like that anymore”

Now listen to CNN’s Ed Shultz encourage people to cheat in this election.

This is where the Democrat party has gone ….if you are a Dem you are in the fight of your life, not with Republicans but with the Progressive socialists bent on taking over this nation by whatever means necessary. They are using your once great party as a host…they are in the GOP too I know…but the Democrats have been eaten up from the inside by this group.
