The Big Money Behind the Pro-Censorship Amendment 65

Beneath all the euphemisms, Colorado Amendment 65 is about imposing government censorship of political speech.
Ironically, two groups that claim to want to “get big money out of politics” have spent big money to support the pro-censorship measure. As I summarize in a recent article, “Two main groups, Fair Share Alliance and Common Cause, have dumped hundreds of thousands of dollars—mostly ‘secret’ money funneled from one group to another—into the Amendment 65 campaign to ‘get big money out of politics.’” See my report for the facts and figures, and see also the report by Colorado Peak Politics.
But of course the fact that leftist groups are dumping hundreds of thousands of dollars into Amendment 65 is not what makes it a bad idea. What makes it a bad idea is that it seeks to impose censorship. Following are my most important articles on the matter:
