Open letter to Dan Maes

[Although I haven’t considered this as something like a petition, please feel free as reader Jeremy did, to add your name via a comment to support of the thrust of my note to Dan Maes.]
I e-mailed the following to Dan Maes this morning…
Dan,
As much as it pains me to say this to a Republican, I want to strongly urge you to accept Tancredo’s offer for you both to exit the governor’s race at the same time.
While I believe your pro-liberty instincts are genuine, your candidacy is hopelessly damaged by one mini-scandal or gaffe after another. I, and I’m sure many others, would be interested in supporting you in a future race, perhaps for the state legislature. But, unfortunately, it is all too clear that this is not an appropriate time for you to be a candidate for the highest elected office in Colorado.
Particularly with redistricting on the horizon, Republicans cannot afford to lose this election. If you and Tom stay in the race, you will be ensuring that outcome.
Again, it gives me no pleasure to urge you to get out of the race but my interest in good government in our once-and-future great state leaves me no choice.
Most sincerely,
Ross Kaminsky

Of course not! Why would anyone conclude that errors are geographical? Errors are errors and attempts to reinflate the British economy using the same hot air compressors that we use here aren’t going to work any better over there than they have here.

And, Hank Brown has now withdrawn his endorsement.

Nicely put, Mr Rossputin. We must have a Republican candidate who can win and who deserves to win.

Mr. Kaminsky, your letter is flawed. Tom Tancredo will not win if Dan Maes exits the race. Mr. Maes is polling good numbers. Tom is not. You are assuming that the Republicans will flock to Tancredo. HE IS NOT A REPUBLICAN, and frankly, I haven’t found him to be particularly principled either.
If you believe good government is centered soley upon the illegal immigration issue you won’t have anyone any more qualified than the candidates we have now.

Beauprez on KHOW – time for Dan Maes to do the right thing and get out.

Says who, Mary? Bob Beauprez? It isn’t the right thing for a lot of supporters. It is too late to “install” someone else. I will repeat myself: TANCREDO IS NOT A REPUBLICAN

Llfeisty,
If you read clearly, you’ll see I said that I want Maes and Tancredo to both get out. Tancredo would get out if Maes did. He’s said so more than once.
I did not call for Maes to get out but Tancredo to stay in.
I do not think Tancredo can win a head-to-head matchup against Hickenlooper.
September 1st, 2010 @ 7:21 pm
Llfeisty,
I think they both should go. Hickenlooper will be a disaster. Neither Maes nor Tancredo will win.

I’m looking forward to the events of tomorrow’s radio. Supposedly its going to be an interesting day…..

Only Republicans would shoot their wounded and demand the end of their only chance for their party to win. You’ll attack the winning conservative candidate in the polls with the lowest negatives in the race and you leave alone the 3rd party candidate with the lowest poll numbers and highest negatives (only guy higher is Ritter). Oh and we are supposed to jump on the suicide wagon just so what can happen? We can hand to Hickenlooper the hot knife to cut through our butter?
Maes could have won and you all fixate on the neg’s of Maes and almost totally ignore Tom “TARP” Tancredo and John “Hard Progressive” Hickenlooper. Yeah I hope most don’t read the insanity of Denver Post and PpC’s choice writers.
How is Tancredo doing in the fundraising dept? After all he should be doing great with his name recognition and everything.

Good lord have we made a major mess of this race. I’ll vote for him if he remains in, but I hope Dan will step out along with TT.
