PPC’s Helpful Research Monkeys Correct Norton Attack Ad

***Updated at 2:00 pm on 29 July 2010***

Out here on the lazy shores of the Potomac, campaign watching is a local past time.    Whoever said that short of war, there’s no excitement anywhere to match the American campaign season was right on*.

So, there I was,  sitting around, polishing my high heels, and checking out the races, when I came across something I just needed to fix.

Jane Norton’s Senate race has a new ad, with a six figure media buy backing it up, which seems to be the latest volley in an increasingly vicious primary battle.

Here it is, with thanks to Jane Norton for Colorado and the fine folks at YouTube:

Well, that’s hardly right…there’s a whole chunk missing in the middle of the Ken Buck Footage.  We know because we’re the ones who took it.

Here’s our original, over at YouTube:

We just wanted to make sure there was some context on this epic battle over footwear. And that it’s getting out there. PPC has already covered this in our posts, “Buck Responds To Norton Ad: “She Has Questioned My Manhood” on July 17th and “Norton/Buck Footwear Flap Hits National News” on the 21st.

Jane’s campaign attack ad already has over 5,000 views at YouTube and the ad is at the top of the queue on her site, so we knew she’d be glad someone was making sure the references and citations were all in order.

Just next time, let us know you’re using our footage.  It’s much easier for us to keep an eye on things that way.

***Update in response to our comments***  It also helps avoid long letters from lawyers like these: Cease and desist letter from PPC, the Norton campaign’s response, and PPC’s final cease and desist letter

* It was Theodore White.  We checked.  We’re research monkeys.  That’s how we roll.

Adversity does not create character, it reveals it. What does this reveal about Jane Norton?
One, that she is not honest.
Two, if you look at her website and it’s intro to this video where it notes “Ken Buck said what? He’s attaching Jane Norton”, she is trying to play this like she is a victim of something. If you didn’t know any better you might forget that Charlie Black’s sister-in-law has been given over $500K by PACs and lobbyists and every RINO politican in the world has endorsed her and given her money. I feel so sorry for poor Jane Norton.

I have been a member of the Republican Party for over 25 years. If Norton is our candidate, I am voting Libertarian.

Why is PPL favoring Buck. I thought the site didn’t endorse. Why not show the misleading ads that Americans for Job Security and others are running for Buck?

I think Norton’s attack ad is great. It makes a point in the time available. If Buck is such a great candidate, why hasn’t he raised enough money to let him run his own ads instead on ads paid for by government contractors and produced and run for the secretive AJS?

I haven’t decided who to vote for in this race. I”m just wondering why this story is stuck and others are not?

This post isn’t an endorsement of Buck.

It is sticky because the video used by Norton was produced by PPC itself, not some other media outlet or third party organization.

That should be patently obvious to you Don.

    Don:
    PPC favors the truth.
That just doesn’t fit very well with some of its bloggers like you and Ross who have chosen a candidate who can’t handle the truth.
Give it some time Don. In a couple weeks it will be over.

[...] morning, Eileen Mahony, D.C. Bureau Chief for the People’s Press Collective, put up a very amusing piece about how the Norton campaign borrowed rather liberally from PPC to produce their latest attack ad [...]

    Don,

As soon as I read your question, my immediate reaction was exactly what El Prez replied. What I don’t understand is why you pounce on Buck with his 527 special interest money and not on Jane’s cozy ties with special interests.

I don’t deny that the 527s certainly have the potential of influencing Buck, but so do contributors to Jane. Am I missing something? Isn’t Jane getting a lot of PAC money. She’s not just living hand to mouth on contributions of $550 or under.

The copyright violation committed so brazenly by Jane should be placed in a similar category as McInnis’ plagiarism (note I said similar, not identical). She’s behaving the same as the scumbags at Colorado Pols, which has been threatened by many MSM outlets in CO for their massive copyright violations.

The Denver Post, by contrast, gave credit to PPC both in their accompanying article and kept the titles on the video. Isn’t that pretty scumbaggy?

I’d like to know to what extent you think Jane would be beholden to special interests, and why?

    Gracias

I literally laughed out loud when I read that, Eileen.

    Good stuff.

For those of you, like Donald, who think that copyright law means nothing, I’m sure you won’t mind when I lift your work and use it as my own. Would you?

What about plagiarism? Does that bother you?

[...] Heelgate just won’t die. People’s Press Collective, a Colorado-based grassroots liberty organization, would like a few words with Ms. Norton. Seems most of the video from Norton’s whiny ode to victimhood latest TV spot–the one where Ken Buck so controversially shared his footwear preferences–is pulled directly from the PPC’s website. Hey Donald, speaking of stories, when is the story of Jane’s amnesty plan going to come out? It’s all detailed in Colorado Public Radio, 7/16/10:

Illegals do a background check and 30 days of community service. Since they’ve had “punishment”, you can no longer call it amnesty.

I am amused at those that believe it really matters which member of the two party duopoly gets the nomination. Even if the R’s win the Senate seat, they’ll be assimilated immediately and the federal leviathan will continue to grow…

Think outside the establishment… or just keeping get it.
