Following news from The Denver Post, The Denver Channel, Rossputin and Colorado Pols, the Hasan Family Foundation issued this press release moments ago:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Monday, July 12, 2010Statement from Seeme Hasan on Scott McInnis Articles
Chairwoman, Hasan Family FoundationIn light of the accusations against Scott McInnis regarding plagiarism of articles to the Hasan Family Foundation, I am shocked, angry and disappointed. Any work related to the fellowship that Mr. McInnis submitted was always represented as final. At no time, whatsoever, did Mr. McInnis communicate that any of the work were “rough drafts.” Any representation that they were submitted to the Foundation as “rough drafts” is absolutely incorrect.
In addition, there were never discussions nor any knowledge by the Foundation that Mr. McInnis was working with a “research advisor.” If indeed Mr. McInnis was working with a “research advisor,” it was never brought to our attention, nor authorized. The work that the Foundation hired Mr. McInnis to do was to be done solely by Mr. McInnis, and not in concert with anyone else.
The Hasan Family Foundation takes the issue of plagiarism extremely seriously. At no time was it brought to our attention that Mr. McInnis used information not cited or unethically used work that was not his own. All work was represented to be original and final. We will conduct an independent, internal investigation and if the allegations are proven to be true, we will demand Mr. McInnis return all monies paid to him by the Foundation.

Funny how this crowd has run away from conservative media like the plague. How pathetic that this appears what we’re stuck with.
Mc could have helped quelch this story weeks ago, but when has he last been quoted by anybody? If he thinks he’s some big shoe in, he’s wrong. We could literally send out an MIA report on the guy, it’s that bad.

Totally agree, Laura, McIsn’t seems to think that he’s annointed and is a shoe in. This is just another incident that he’s been involved in. There are quite a few and I find it amazing that people would even think that he is an honorable person. People make mistakes, but this incident is clearly a whopper. It will be interesting how they try to spin this…. the researcher is probably going to be blamed. I feel sorry for the poor guy.

According to Denver’s CBS affiliate McInnis privately admitted this. To me this is more egregious of an offense. If true it is theft of another person’s work and he should resign ASAP.
