Blumenthal's actual record shows he was in the US and never left during his time in the Marine Corps reserves. Contrarily he has repeatedly identified himself as a V.N. veteran.
Truthfully, he received FIVE deferments from serving OUTCONUS which is extremely unusual...obviously he knew someone who helped him avoid overseas service.
Many MSM reports say that the reserves was a common way to avoid Vietnam service. I know this may be partially true, but there were MANY reservists deployed to Vietnam. John Kerry was one of them.
Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal has issued a formal apology for inaccurately portraying his military service during the Vietnam War ....
Blumenthal is under fire for saying, on several occasions, that he served in the Vietnam War when he was a Marine reservist who never left U.S. soil......
