Colorado State Senator Dan Gibbs (D-SD 16) surprised a Memorial Day ceremony audience of about 250 at the Dillon Cemetary by closing his comments with this quote from Ronald Reagan: Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same. Gibbs knew his audience well and sounded more like a young Republican legislator than a young Democrat. He's running for the Summit County board of commissioners next fall.
