The Patriot’s Mite

Yesterday, weeks of preparation and work culminated in the Tea Party Express III: Just Vote Them Out Rallies in Grand Junction and Denver.  While the “lame stream media” are reporting “hundreds” participated, I suppose you could say they are correct – about 10 hundreds (1,000) rallied in Grand Junction at 10 am in the morning) and twice that number at the Capitol.

Here are pictures from the rally in Denver to see for yourself.

It had been a cloudy afternoon in Denver until the Tea Party Express buses arrived and the sun broke through the clouds to shine directly on the west steps like a natural spotlight on the performers and speakers.  Our gold-domed Capitol seemed to gleam with pride at everyday citizens below getting involved and standing up for Colorado and America.

We enjoyed great musical performances, moving tributes to our veterans, servicemen and women, and some inspiring speeches including those from Congressman Tom Tancredo and Congressman Mike Coffman (who announced his newly formed Congressional Balanced Budget Amendment Caucus, which has members from both parties).  There were clever signs, again displaying our wit and our patriotism.  A good time was had by all the tea partiers who took off work, got off the couch and gathered together for freedom’s sake.  About 1/3 of the crowd raised their hand when asked if this was the first time to a Tea Party.

The only “incident” occurred before the program started when a few young men from our opposition tried to cause an argumentative disruption and were escorted outside of the permitted area by the Capitol police.  Once again there was no violence or inappropriate behavior from our side, just an attempt to start trouble from the left-wing nut-jobs, which was dealt with promptly and effectively by our crowd monitors and the Capitol police.

However, the most moving and inspirational story of the day was when a middle-aged gentleman approached me before the program and said he wanted to contribute to the Colorado groups who helped with the event.  He was dressed like a middle-class working man who did not have much if anything left after paying bills and taxes.  He pressed 8 (eight) one-dollar bills in my hand and said, “Thank you.”

I was immediately reminded of the Bible’s story about the Widow’s Mite (Mark 12).  She did not have much, but she gave all she had.  I strongly suspect this anonymous donor had just given me all he had left yesterday to our cause of restoring America so the all generations can live in freedom forever.

Thanks for posting. I no longer go to the MSM for the news. I knew I’d get the true crowd estimate at PPC.

Thanks for the great article and the wonderful story of the $8. As a patriot, I have had a tough 10 days since passage of the healthcare takeover, watching the gathering storm of the remainder of the Obama takeover agenda. Our economy, our children and grandchildren have little chance. But yesterday’s event lifted my spirits, as did your article, we will all resist this madness for another day, another month, another year. PLEASE keep it up, it is so helpful to this noble and urgent cause of freedom.

Praise for PPC From Our Lefty "Fan"
