Why aren’t Ed Perlmutter, Betsy Markey, John Salazar and Jared Polis ready to dump Charlie Rangel?

Fourteen House Democrats are calling on the scandal-plagued chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Charlie Rangel (D-NY), to step down. The House "Ethics Committee" (oxymoron warning) has ruled that Rangel broke House rules when he took a junket funded by campaign contributors and lobbyists. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is trying to protect her friend, and it appears Colorado Democrats are in on the effort to defend the powerful Rangel. Why aren's Ed Perlmutter, Diana DeGette, John Salazar, Betsy Markey and Jared Polis among the leaders in the move to dump Rangel? Don't ethics matter to them?Comments
