219-212: Health Care Reform Open Thread; Repeal the Bill

Discuss–is repeal possible?

More thoughts from Ed Morrissey at Hot Air.

Local grassroots and GOP chime in . . .

From Lesley Hollywood, Northern Colorado Tea Party:

Tea Party, 9-12 and other pro-liberty activists across the state of Colorado are outraged at the blatant disregard for the will of the American People. Betsy Markey, John Salazar, Ed Perlmutter, Jared Polis, Mark Udall, and Michael Bennet are all in collusion with Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Reid, and President Obama in bringing socialized medicine against the will of Colorado. Congress had brought 1/6 of the American economy under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government, specifically Health and Human Services and the Internal Revenue Service, all while mandating 35 million new Americans acquire health insurance. The entire contents of this 2700+ page healthcare bill is a mystery to the citizens of the United States, as well as many who voted it for it.

“It’s stunning to see the American Government stooping to such levels. This bill was strongly opposed by the majority of the American people, all Congressional Republicans and many Democrats, yet the Obama administration and their colleagues chose to ram this legislation into the state of Colorado along with rest of the nation. There will be a political revolt in November like never seen before. Colorado’s pro-liberty activists will not see this as a road block, but instead will use it to motivate them. I also anticipate full support of all efforts to protect Colorado’s citizens from this legislation, legislation that is a brutal attack on the United States Constitution and the people who uphold it.” Hollywood said.

From Colorado GOP Chairman Dick Wadhams:

“Defying a clear majority of Americans who oppose this health care reform monstrosity, President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Reid and Speaker Pelosi and their compliant stooges Betsy Markey, John Salazar, Ed Perlmutter, Jared Polis, Diana DeGette, Michael Bennet and Mark Udall are raising taxes on families and small businesses to pay for a massive expansion of government control of health care. Using bribery and intimidation that would make a Chicago ‘community organizer’ proud, Obama, Reid and Pelosi also played fast and loose with the numbers to fraudulently claim this bill reduces the deficit. Colorado will be saddled with a dramatic increase in Medicaid costs while taxpayers will be subjected to increased scrutiny by the IRS. The good news is that Democrats will face the wrath of voters this November.”

“As state Republican chairman, I know this sets the stage for big victories this fall. As an American, I fear for the future of our country unless we repeal this bill.”

I spent today with my father, a 94 year old WWII vet that flew combat missions over Germany and played a major role in the victory. I drove home today to learn that a feckless empty suit and a band of idiots undid what my father and many more truly brave heroes put their lives at risk to defend. What a catastrophic tragedy! My time and money will go to any oponent of the anyone who actually voted for this piece of trash legislation. j

DONATE to your favorite candidates, donate to Clear the Bench Colorado and donate to Pelosi’s Republican challenger, John Dennis at http://www.johndennis2010.com/
The only thing these people fear is money going to their opponents campaigns and pro-freedom causes. After making donations send letters to Dem US Rep’s from CO and Sen Bennet telling them you donated to their opponents and to Pelosi’s challenger, too.

Donate also to Bart Stupak’s challenger in Michigan – he was the last piece of the puzzle in passing the bill today, and prostituted his vote for funding for maintenance and improvements at three regional airports in the rural Upper Peninsula:

Grassroots liberty groups across Colorado are planning a Mega Money Bomb for our members to contribute to their favorite candidates, Clear the Bench Colorado and other pro-liberty causes from April 15-18. Kick-off will be at the Tax Day Tea Parties in our state. Remember Freedom is Not Free.

An outrage and a disgrace…exactly what I’ve come to expect from the politicians in this country. I am disgusted at their antics. And not a single one of them will be required to participate in their health care reform, just as they do not participate in Social Security. When will we wake up in this country to the “entitlement” mindset that these politicians have…all at the public trough? All the while, we work hard 50 or more years of our lives, then when we can no longer work, or we might be able to retire, we hardly have the means to make it worthwhile. But the pigs who’ve fed at the trough are fat and happy until they die. I can only trust that they’ll get their just rewards elsewhere along the road of life or in the hereafter. This is NOT the United States of America founded by our forefathers and mothers, whose sacrifices have been diminished by the gluttony of the politicians in Washington.

A state constitutional amendment to opt-out of this abuse of the powers delegated under the federal constitution is most warranted, and such an amendment would make a fine addition to the following already up for consideration on this fall’s ballot:

Rather than symply telling the democrats that you support their opponents, contribute by check and send a copy to the appropriate democrat.
