"Truthers," "birthers," members of militia groups, and, apparently anyone opposed to illegal immigration and immigration are "extremists" and are hurting the Tea Party movement and the Republican Party in the eyes of so-called "establishment" conservative leaders such as Erick Erickson, Michael Gerson and Ned Ryun, according to a Politico story. Birthers and Truthers clearly belong to the Wackadoo wings of whatever party they associate with. I don’t think former Rep. Tancredo belongs in the same category. The trouble with Tancredo is, well… have you ever heard the expression “when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail”?
He’s off message for those of us trying to take back our representative government and free market economy.
As noted in the Freeman Hunt blog, “You want a big tent? It’s fiscal conservatism… Embrace fiscal conservatism. Leave the rest to federalism. It’s easy. It’s a no-brainer. It’s even Constitutional.”
The rest is commentary.

Tom Tancredo lost all of my respect when he supported the Bush bailouts. If there was ever any doubt that he is a loud-mouth, single-issue embarrassment it should have disappeared when he backed that big government boondoggle. All he cares about is keeping “them” out (and, yes, not just illegals as he called for a “timeout” on LEGAL immigration) even if it means selling out fiscal issues.
