Colorado’s Michael Bennet and Mark Udall Vote to Boost My Children’s Debt

Thanks to Americans for Limited Government, brings our attention to something you may have missed, namely a key vote in the U.S. Senate last Thursday:
It was also on this day that the Senate voted 60-39 to increase the national debt ceiling by another $1.9 trillion to $14.294 trillion.
It is the largest debt ceiling increase in U.S. history — in human history, in fact — totaling even more than the projected federal budget deficit for 2010, which CBO states will be an eye-popping $1.35 trillion….
The vote was straight down party lines, with Senate Democrats enabling the Barack Obama administration to continue the federal spending spree, putting my children and grandchildren deeper in debt. Yes, that means the Appointed One Michael Bennet on his 2010 U.S. Senate Farewell Tour, and Mark Udall — he of the “dirty politician filter.”
Another reminder for Colorado’s fiscal conservatives, limited government supporters and liberty lovers to get involved and support the GOP candidate who you believe best fulfills your values and can unseat Bennet. Let’s keep the momentum going.

In the last week I’ve received two emails from Senator Bennet and Udall saying the following respectively:
Senator Bennet: “It’s time to change the way Washington does business. We have to begin the long and difficult task of putting our nation’s fiscal house in order. It won’t happen overnight, but our long-term economic prosperity and security, and our children’s future depend on attacking the huge debt and deficits that threaten to constrain our kids’ choices.
Michael has helped lead the charge to restore fiscal discipline in Washington. If folks in Colorado are tightening their belts and cutting back on their spending, Congress should do the same. Over the last year, Michael has made reducing our deficits and debt a top priority, and he will continue those efforts to make sure Washington doesn’t neglect this important priority.”
Senator Udall: “I joined Senators Judd Gregg (R-NH) and Kent Conrad (D-ND) to support a bipartisan task force to reduce the national debt. I believe without a change in course, our fiscal path will saddle future generations with debt that could trigger disastrous inflation, cripple our economy, and stymie long-term job growth. A healthy economic future is the key to creating quality jobs here in Colorado and around the nation.”
“You Lie” and “Not True” are the only responses I can muster.

I once would have questioned whether Bennet & Udall actually believe their own claptrap. But now I say all that matters is the people responsible for electing them increasingly are waking up and not believing it, and that’s what matters most. Let’s continue to spread the word here on PPC and anywhere we can!

PS. I *think* I am double posting because the first attempt said “invalid captcha” but looks like it went through. Overall, the new site looks great, though somebody might want to double check the captcha integration.
