this is very tragic–but if the name is right on the shooter makes a person think hard. only call it how i see it makes me sick. only good thing to come out of this is guess he found out if there is ali or not im guessing not

CJ, why on earth would the ATF and FBI even be needed – it\’s a freaking ARMY BASE! I betcha they\’ve got plenty enough firepower to handle this…

Yes Travis, but the ATF, ahem the BATFE, has had an inferiority complex since its inception (I mean, come on, they used to be part of the Treasury Department until that genius GW Bush created Homeland Security – they weren’t even federal law enforcement until recent years; they were cute little tax agents!). Why respond to a military base? Because the crime was commited with a firearm – duh. And since that’s one of the letters in their growing acronymical name, they need to respond. Plus, BATFE’s given such a bang up performance on other jobs in the Waco area in the past, so why wouldn’t they want to show up?

Seriously, though, believe it or not, outside law enforcement was called in because soldiers aren’t allowed to carry firearms on base.
