Rep. Michele Bachmann “A Washington Update”; Left Calling For Bachmann To “Slit Her Wrists”

by | 8:40 am, September 1, 2009 | 4 Comments

The left, of course, is going crazy about Bachmann’s comments, and in full-tilt faux outrage, they are calling for Rep. Bachmann to slit her own wristshere, here, here, etc. etc.

Stay classy lefties.

What Rep. Bachmann said about the health care plans proposed by Democrats:

“What we have to do today is make a covenant, to slit our wrists, be blood brothers on this thing. This will not pass. We will do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn’t pass.”

Apparently the left has never heard of a metaphor. I’d prefer the “band of brothers” quote from Shakespeare myself, but it is clear that not only does the left wish to take this literally, they have now projected their hate and anger into actively calling for Rep. Bachmann to do so–literally.

Overheated rhetoric? Perhaps. Not that the progressives/Democrats ever heard anything like that during last year’s DNC in Denver, or from President Barack Obama’s pastor Jeremiah Wright, or his friend William Ayers, or Howard Dean or . . .

And right on cue, the increasingly flaky Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs is jumping on this as a sign of Bachman’s supposed craziness. Predictable.

I guess Charles needs a little remedial metaphor training, as well. Actually, I’m sure he knows exactly what she meant by the remark – how could anyone be that stupid (aside from a leftist, that is)? He’s probably just being obtuse because it pays the new mortgage better than intellectual honesty.

It’s easier to focus on the “crazy-sounding” slip-up in her metaphor than anything of substance she might have said. Typical left/media MO.

    As for LGF…*sigh*.

Agreed, she had a lot of great substance in her speech and they focus on the misspoken metaphor…Obama does it all the time.
As for LGF…I stopped reading it about a year ago. His denigration and misrepresentation of scientists who believe in intelligent design was unrelenting and…wrong.

You and I will probably disagree about the validity of ID, Bob, but yes, he certainly has made a monomania out of his opposition to it. That, and his “Republicans are all kooks” theme.

I guess that would make it a “duomania”, though. Or a “bimania”.
