If you think you can get a ticket for this event you probably are drinking the same Koolaide that the crowd in NH were drinking.

    Dear Mr. President:

    1. You recently claimed that the debate about health care is a good thing. Then why did you want a bill to be passed even before the August Congressional recess, and why did you pass the massive Stimulus Bill before anyone could read it, much less analyze it? Is free and open debate good or not?

    2. You casually remarked that no one would approve of “pulling the plug on Grandma”, but aren’t you are aware that Oregon’s plan – a state example of a single payer plan – will pay for assisted suicide rather than treatment in some cases, or that there are funding restrictions for those near the end of life under European plans and even within Medicare and Medicaid?

    3. The bogeymen this time around are evidently the insurance companies. But have you or has anyone you know ever been greatly pleased to find out that your insurance paid for expensive medical treatments? And don’t you understand that in any case people have the right to change insurers if they wish under our present system?

    4. On many occasions you’ve claimed that under your plan people could keep their present plans if they wish, but don’t you know what has happened to private plans in Europe, Canada and elsewhere, and why do you think things would be different here?

    5. You’ve said that your new plan will actually reduce costs, but can you cite any government program where this has happened? How do you explain the Post Office, Cash for Clunkers, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, or just about any other federal government bureaucracy?

    6. If you are so concerned about the uninsured, why aren’t you up front about the numbers who are illegal aliens, the number who qualify but haven’t registered for existing programs etc.? And why don’t you simply take a small portion of the as yet unspent Stimulus money and insure them?

    7. Given the way the Stimulus Bill was handled, your desire to create a new crisis and rush through another sweeping and expensive change, and given the absolute horrors of the House health care bill, can’t you understand the anger, frustration and downright fear the American people are now exhibiting?

Mr. President, if you would scrap the attempt to totally nationalize health care and instead seek to eliminate Medicare and Medicaid fraud, pass tort reform, allow across state line competition and do other things to improve the best health care system in the world and foster freedom, you would be among the most honored presidents in recent history, and your legacy would be certain.

    Sincerely Concerned,

    Larry Lucero
