Say No To Federal Regulations On Hydraulic Fracturing

From geologist Isaac Smith:

Hydraulic fracturing, also known as “fracing,” is the process of using high pressure fluids to crack rock formations thousands of feet below the surface in order to retrieve a greater amount of oil and gas resources than would otherwise be recovered. This process has been used to enhance production of hydrocarbons for over 60 years. It is safe. It is effective. And it is essential element in the production of hydrocarbon supplies both today and in the future. It should not be regulated by federal authorities.
. . .
Natural gas supplies are abundant, reliable, clean burning and are increasing due to new technologies and the process of hydraulic fracturing. Developing our natural resources is a prudent and responsible energy strategy that creates thousands of jobs, generates billions of dollars in state and federal revenue, and income for property owners, while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Exploration and production companies take safety and environmental concerns seriously. New regulations should not be imposed on hydraulic fracturing during tough economic times.

If the US is concerned about greenhouse gas emissions then further exploration and integration of natural gas supplies into our energy mix must be pursued. Restricting hydraulic fracturing will hurt our economy, increase unemployment and generate more greenhouse gases.

Another example of government control expanding into business. Next they will eliminate the tax brakes for drilling for oil. NUTS!
