You trust this bumbling government with your health care?

Check out this great letter to the editor by Michelle Ciletti in last week’s Denver Post. It’s in response to a news article that begins:

Colorado’s most powerful charitable foundations have spent millions to feed hungry people this year — including money that could be funneled to other needs if state and county officials were able to get food stamps to the poor on time.

…the state has been so slow to rehabilitate a $166.4 million computer system that counties cite as the reason food-stamp applications are backlogged.

Michelle’s letter:

Re: “Glitch drains aid to needy,” May 31 news story.

The state of Colorado has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on a failed computer system designed to distribute food stamps to people who are hungry right now. These same people want us to trust them with making decisions regarding our health care, provided under a state-run “universal coverage” program. No thanks.

Michelle Ciletti, Aurora

Excellent point, Michelle, and thanks for taking time to write!
