I sent this to Congressman John McHugh, R NY;
It is my understanding that you voted in favor of the 1300 page carbon cap and trade bill. It is my understanding that you, along with 7 other Republican Representatives voted for the measure.
This is poison legislation. I don’t know the details of the bill, as I am sure you do not, because there is only one printed copy as I am given to understand it. The poison of this bill is that it takes up the discredited religion of anthropocentric global warming as its enabling banner, and seeks to place the very air we breathe under the boot of the taxman.
What Republican could possibly vote for that bill?
Perhaps next cycle you should consider running as a Democrat. I know this is New York, of course, but if this is your idea of how you represent me, then I am going to do whatever I can to turn you out in the next election.
As an individual, I am relatively powerless, of course, but you have provided me and people like me with the best reason possible for firiing you. This bill is a travesty, a complete and utter betrayal of the trust of the citizens who placed you in office.
Respectfully;
