This time, the Republicans MEAN it.

Larry Kudlow, on cnbc.com, says "Obama declares war on investors, entrepreneurs, businesses" and common sense in general.

This is a good article, except for this statement: "House Republicans, fortunately, are 90 days sober, as they are putting up a valiant fight to stop the big-government onslaught and move the GOP back to first principles."

The Republicans don't deserve any slack on this. Republicans, especially in D.C., only seem to fight for fiscal responsibility when they know they can't win. Otherwise, they spend and print money just fine when they have the power.

I don't want to hear a long time drunk telling me he is going to kick his addiction starting today. I don't believe him. Words, even given inflation, are still cheap. Let's see those words put into action.

The Republicans in D.C. are all standing around the barn, pleased with themselves for closing the barn door. Too bad the horses left eight years ago.

I hate the idea that Democrats hold sole power in Washington D.C. I hate that conservatives are on the outside looking in. What I really hate though, is that the Republican Party deserved what happened. If they want us to trust them again, they have to clean house and get back to the fiscal conservatism that worked for them in the 90′s.

And to go with that, Cologeek, Republicans (and everyone else) need to look at what goodies they’re getting from the government, and what they’re willing to refrain from taking in exchange for smaller government and lower taxes.

Everyone is for reducing government spending as long as the reductions come from someone else’s share of the redistributed loot.
