Oink – The Denver Pork Roast for Obama’s Stimulus Package

**Update 2: Instalanche! Thanks Glenn!
**Update: Welcome Michelle Malkin readers!
Well, it was a pretty good turnout especially since the people who showed at the Denver Pork Roast actually had day jobs… the curse of being a producer. Here’s what I saw:

Portion of the crowd.

Obama’s Pork Chop. Jon Caldara said Pork Chop was captured in a collegesque mascot prank. I believe him. Oink.

How true Rossputin, how true.

Michelle Malkin serves up the roasted pork!

Serfdom for kids? I don’t buy it.

Okay, maybe there’s something to that kids and serfdom bit. I even heard her oink!

So what does that make us? What’s below a serf?

Ah yes. How long before Atlas shrugs?

I don’t remember seeing Obama use this campaign logo.
Additional fun from more Colorado Citizen Journalists:
Ari Armstrong from Freecolorado.com was also there taking pics and audio.
As was El Marco at Lookingattheleft.com, who got some great shots as well.

Great photos. Nice to see conservatives fighting back for a change. That Gov’t t-shirt is from Despair.com. I get their catalogs. They nailed it.
http://www.despair.com/government.html They also have a poster for corruption. They should just call it porkulus. http://www.despair.com/corruption.html

EXCELLENT !!
We need to get out of chairs and bring it to them. We “ARE” the People. They work for us..yet they ignore our concerns, they use fear to have their way and grow their government. It has become their Government, with their excess, double standards, their corruption. We want honor and integrity back in our leaders. We need to unite and have rallys like this simultaneously. We want our country back, we want to preserve our liberties.

I like the Atlas sign. Unfortunately, “who is John Galt?” is more appropriately “is there a John Galt?” in this day. We may all have to be mini-JGs, and soon, if we’re to put the brakes on this mess.

Was this a KKK meeting? Every except Malkin was white. 8 showed up for the protest, the rest came for the free pork lunch.
February 17th, 2009 @ 7:35 pm
Wow tens of people come out and protest what millions of people voted for-what a movement.
As for the Atlas shrugged stuff-Grow up.
February 17th, 2009 @ 8:21 pm
Great stuff! The only thing I have a problem with is the use of kids in a political protest. It’s one of the things which really annoys me about the left.
Believe me, Atlas IS shrugging. It’s funny but when I first read Atlas Shrugged I didn’t have a high opinion of Rand’s literary skills as I thought the characters in her book were contrived and unrealistic. Over the last few weeks I’ve realized that they captured the mindset of the socialist looter perfectly.
The defining characteristic of the socialist mindset is a yearning for the unearned. It’s time to start saying NO to these thieving bastards.

Things like this are good, but this was clearly a conservative event rather than one that would attempt to reach across the aisle. And, while I’m sure some major stim bill supporters might be aware of it, unless it becomes a major trend (a la 2003′s anti-war protests), it’s not going to have much of an impact on what they do.
If anyone wants to take things to the next step, embarrass a major bill supporter on video by asking them a question they’re going to have trouble answering. Then, upload the video to Youtube.
Imagine what would have happened if the works-at-McDonalds guy had asked Obama a real question, one that Obama had trouble answering and that made him look bad.
There’s a sample question at my name’s link, or feel free to think up one about a subject you’re familiar with.

“Real (sic) America”, why is it always about race with you lefties?
Was there any racial component to what was being protested? No.
Was there any reason to bring race into this discussion? No.
But there you go, dragging it in anyway. Oh right…let me guess…it’s because anyone who disagrees with the socialist policies of Our Most Holy Messiah of Hopenchangeyness (Unicorns Be Unto Him) is by definition a “racist”?
Nah, I think the fact that you reflexively charge “racism!” against anything you don’t like is just evidence of your own racism, projected on others.

And don’t forget, “Real (sic) America”, dissent is the highest form of patriotism.

And then there’s Mike – Mike, “millions of people” didn’t vote for this stimulus fraud, the Democrat caucus in both houses of the Democrat Congress did, with only the help of three RINOs who might as well be Democrats.
And why? Because on the one part it’s a payoff to the unions and ACORN and other corrupt handout groups who wrangle the vote for Democrats — more money, more votes bought with the bread and circuses of the state. And on the other part, it is a trojan horse (through that medical records crap that Daschle has been drooling over for years, and almost got to administrate himself via HHS) for socialized medicine, the Democrat seizure of control of something like 1/7th of our economy and the ability through that control to exercise nannyist micromanagement over every aspect of every citizen’s life. For their own good of course. Whether they want it or not, of course.
The polls of late suggest that a sizeable majority of Americans DON’T like the stimulus.
But hey, I suppose that doesn’t matter now. The herd voted, Obama won, and now he can do whatever he likes – never mind what he promised the proles to get himself elected, and never mind whether they now support him and his actions. At least, that’s what Obama himself is saying now – “I won” – as he’s throwing every one of his campaign promises out the window, continuing Bush policies in a number of areas, and going whole-hog corruptocratic socialist everywhere else.
But you keep on loving The One You’ve Been Waiting For. Maybe he’ll give you a lollipop if you’re a good boy and drink all your Koolaid.

It’s interesting that this right-wing site is using Communist-inspired images like the red fist and Communist slogans like the “People’s Press Collective”. The right-wing are upside-down Marxists. They believe in the class struggle, but they believe it’s the RICH who should win instead of the workers.
They believe in wasteful government spending, only they want to waste billions and trillions on weapons systems that don’t work and wars that kill thousands of innocent people. Government spending is OK as long as it fills the pockets of the wealthy and the defense contractors. If it goes to things we actually need, like infrastructure and jobs, it’s labeled as “pork”.

Real AmeriKKKa, it’s Denver. I see plenty of Americans and even some Hispanics who aren’t “oppressed.”
I don’t live in the US. Did local mass media cover this in advance to let people know what’s going on? Where are all the counterprotester saying it’s our civic duty to pay more taxes for policies they want, to support their pet projects that they won’t cough up their own money for?
February 17th, 2009 @ 10:34 pm
It’s called “irony”, Jasper. Learn to appreciate it.
PPC favors small, limited government, individual rights with personal responsibility, and free market capitalism. I know that doesn’t fit with your bigoted stereotype of what “right wingers” are supposed to believe, but it’s true.
And if you believe that this “stimulus” bill is going to fund “things we actually need”, you might want to read the bill itself.
