NYU Student Protest Ends

What, you didn’t know there was a sit-in and protest at NYU? Yeah. Neither did I.
With the exception of the profanity, Saturday Night Live couldn’t have done a better parody.
Before the economy went to crap, corporate America was facing a real crisis as they tried to integrate these kids into the work force. Maybe it’s time to rethink that entire mandatory college degree thing.
Last week I referenced “spoiled white art students pretending they live in a totalitarian society instead of one so wealthy and self-assured it can indulge their neurotic fantasies of ‘oppression’”.
Thanks, NYU, for making my point:
And if you’re wondering how these kids got this clueless, last night I attended the Indoctrinate U screening here in Denver. Insightful.
I am reminded of two sayings that I heard often growing up, I just googled them so I could source ‘em for ya.
Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors.–African Proverb
If you love your son, make him leave home. –Japanese Proverb

Of course not! Why would anyone conclude that errors are geographical? Errors are errors and attempts to reinflate the British economy using the same hot air compressors that we use here aren’t going to work any better over there than they have here.

Oh. My. God.
That is HILARIOUS! Could they be any more self-parodying? “We need consensus on this!” And the drama queen screaming about the police trying to throw her off the balcony (which was twenty-odd feet away, and through a set of doors crowded with police and protestors) was priceless.
If they have any ability at self-reflection, they might start to understand why their consensus-driven, non-hierarchical, non-organization organizational structure doesn’t work — by the time they build consensus and arrive at a conclusion on what to do, their adversaries have already acted. OODA loop, kiddies, OODA loop.

Yeah, it’s also kind of sad. . . I don’t know that I will EVER be able to use the word “consensus” again.
