The people divided will never be defeated?

Democratic National Convention, August 23, 2008. The Drug Peace Rally at Lincoln Park in Denver attracted far more law enforcement types than actual participants. Greeted by “Medical Marijuana Patients Love Obama” signs, the small group gathered for a “legalize marijuana” march that would never happen due to lack of interest.

As the group gathered for a photo, wafts of odiferous smoke lingered in the air and they chanted “Medical Marijuana” amidst coughs and giggles. They then erupted into a mantra that even confused those advocates of the cause. “The people divided will never be defeated.”

Perhaps they meant, “United we stand, divided we fall?” Well, I suppose the mistake is understandable.

This is your brain…and this is your brain on drugs. Any questions?

I was there. I heard several people say that, and thought it unfortunate and stupid at the time. Please remove this video — it was an isolated idiocy which does not do the legalization movement any good!

Incidentally, ‘Democrats and Allies’ March Against the Prohibition of Marijuana’ DID take place on the planned date (Aug. 28). We were gathered on August 23 to distribute fliers in Civic Center Park. People from several different groups are pictured in the video.
