Opening Night DNC Speaker Bows Out, Undecided About Supporting Obama

Cameron Strang edits the “edgy and hip” (not my words) Relevant magazine. Relevant to what, exactly, was not available at press time, but it likely involves Hope and Change…edgy, hip Hope and Change. Cameron was all set to deliver the benediction at the DNC on Monday night, but had second thoughts.
Strang’s name carries weight among fast growing Pentecostal and charismatic religious circles and he was included in a June meeting in Chicago when Obama met with several religious leaders deemed key to his campaign.
Yet he has now said he will take a much lower-key role in the DNC’s numerous religious goings-on. But the real kicker is that after basking in Obama’s presence and being asked to give an opening night blessing to DNC, Strang has bowed out and publicly said he is undecided as to who he supports for the POTUS.
That’s OK. Barack knows plenty of firebrand zealots who are comfortable screaming from a podium.

Yeah, like this guy. Can you imagine a pro-choice pastor leading a prayer at the RNC?

Curious Stranger,
In fact, yes I can. Haven’t you heard all of the talk lately of McCain picking a pro-choice VP? Besides, the pastor isn’t there to talk about his political views. He’s there to give the benediction.

I’ve heard the talk – let me know when it actually happens. Nothing would doom McCain’s already slim prospects faster.

Obama and McCain are within the margin of error in the polls [link].

FYI Curious Stranger – I just inadvertently deleted your last comment while doing some housecleaning (not sure what entry it was on, but it was something about someone being pro-choice).
