Michelle Malkin was attacked by protesters and conspiracy nut Alex Jones during the “Shake Your Money Maker” event while Recreate68 attempted to levitate the Denver Mint. Another protester began shouting “Kill Michelle Malkin.”

I disagree wholeheartedly with Cindy Sheenan, but I would never threaten her and incite violence towards her.

I’m not making any representation that I read her book. I do read her blog periodically though, and she – along with Little Green Footballs – represents the worst of the right blogosphere. Nothing but poison and bile designed to do nothing but rile up a bunch of racists.
That being said, I have no use for Alex Jones – he is the left-wing analog of Michelle and LGF – whipping up the crazed america haters. I’d love to see them both disappear. They are all equally useless turds of humanity.

If Michelle Malkin is equal, she should be able to handle herself. Is she supposed to receive special treatment because she is a tiny Filipino women? Alex Jones isn’t yelling at her because she’s a women, he’s yelling at her because he’s a loon. He yells at everyone he disagrees with. If she doesn’t want to get yelled at by loons, she shouldn’t go hunting them down.
And as far as I can tell, no hand was laid on Malkin, so he didn’t actually incite the mob to violence.

Random, you are clearly confused about what “free speech” means.
I don’t believe Alex Jones is suggesting that anyone limited his freedom of speech, so whether or not incitement to violence is free speech or not is not relevant. If you are suggesting that the act of inciting violence without any violence being committed is itself a crime, then you better revisit your right-wing echo-chamber handbook. You’re supposed to be against Hate Crime laws. At least half of your favorite bloggers and radio hosts would be locked up if that were the case.
Secondly, I am not a governement, but for a moment, lets pretend I was – I still would not have to “open up comments” on my website. Your free speech rights do not obligate the government to provide you a venue to exercise them. Why don’t you go start your own blog and harangue me from there. Thanks for playing though!

I give it to Malkin. She had the guts to go there like a courageous journalist, knowing she was entering hostile terrain. She withstood the fat guy with the big mouth screaming at her along with his brown shirt buddies. She never flinched, never ran, just went about getting her business accomplished taking pictures for her blog, never got baited into a shouting match. Clearly a win for Michelle Malkin.
What I don’t understand is why the left and associated nutcakes seem to be begging for a war they will not win. Civil discourse favors the far left because it allows them to speak in a country which is fairly conservative. If it is foolishly abandoned by the left, the left will cease to exist. The country is stronger when all are given the right to speak and protest peacefully. The left seems to be edging further and further away from that part of the social contract. It’s a decision they ought not make so lightly.

If Malkin had walked around getting in people’s face that might be a good point. But unless the video missed a major part of the confrontation she appeared simply to be there and take some pictures.
If there are places where someone cannot walk peaceably because they wrote the wrong kind of book, we give rights to the mob to curtail our freedoms, simply because they do agree with our opinions. Such thinking leads to a retort that if MLK wanted to say controversial things he shouldn’t have gone to Memphis. Is that a guideline that we even ought to consider in America? This was not simply heckling, but repeated calls to “kill Michelle Malkin”. Yet your condemnation is directed toward Malkin for daring to go where is might not be welcomed? It’s ok to threaten someone’s life for peacefully walking through your neighborhood because you don’t like what they wrote in book?

Perhaps you missed what was going on today in Denver. There were protests. There were mobs. There was a chance of violence breaking out – that is why the police were there. Michelle chose to walk into that situation, in a crowd she knew would be hostile to her and she got yelled at. One guy yelled “Kill Malkin” 4 or 5 times before being waved down by another. Seriously folks, get a grip. She is not MLK in Memphis.

A hate crime law is when you pass a law which makes something that is already illegal, say inciting or committing violence against a person or persons, and you punish it more severely if the crime is perpetrated against a protected group. A hate crime law is the modern version of having a class based legal system, where a crime is punished more severely depending on who the victim was. The only difference is that instead of granting greater rights to the aristocracy and lesser rights to slaves, ‘hate crime laws’ define different priviledged groups.
I have no problem with criminalizing speech which incites violence. I have a big problem with creating legally priviledged classes.

Before we go off on how Michelle Malkin’s life was threatened, look carefully at the guy chanting “Kill Michelle Malkin” near the beginning of this video. If you watch, you’ll see two things: (1) someone next to him tells him to tone it down; and (2) throughout the rest of the video he is yelling things like “Alex Jones is a capitalist stooge,” “Alex Jones is a corporate stooge” and, near the end, he calls Jones an “unchivalrous pig.”
I strongly doubt that he was there to protest. Looks more like he was there to stir shit up; whether he’s a right-winger or just a troll can’t be determined.

If Michelle Malkin would have engaged in a conversation with Alex Jones, certainly a civil conversation could have ensued. Instead she ignored Jones and walked away. In order to get her attention, one must raise their voice to be heard and must be even louder with lots of people around making and yelling other comments as well. People on TV in the public eye, have celebrity status as Malkin does, and confront these types of situations routinely. No reason to feel that Malkin has been threatened here. It goes with her job. Are there any real journalists around here? This so-called “blogosphere” is in desperate need of a carbon tax, the verbal pollution is becoming extremely unhealthy. I’m hoping it’s just a small group of idiots still stuck in a paleo right/left paradigm that have nothing better to do then spout 2-3 lines of utterly inane garbage. I know it’s hard to stick to the facts when you have an agenda, you’re career depends on misinformation, talking-points, and sensationalism — obviously not objective reporting.
So what are the facts?
For one, Alex Jones is far from being a lefty. He’s verifiably a Constitutionalist, but apparently believing in that is synoymous with fascism — only in America, eh? Second, Michelle Malkin is hardly a poor little innocent girl people claim that she is, but only here do the same ignorant sheeple become apologists for someone who condones sending Americans to detention camps and is a “puppy-killer” denier, simply because she is a little woman. I suppose it would have been easier to know that Hitler killed Jews if he was a small little women, right? Granted, she isn’t that bad; at least they’ll fed you in Gitmo or a FEMA camp.
Sadly, this article has become a complete failure to maintain any hint of journalistic integrity; the writer never elaborates on who the protesters were besides the little blurb about Recreate 68, which would lead people to believe that Alex was apart of that group. The fact is that Recreate 68 is an anarchist group who’s endgame is to create a violent riot at the DNC convention, and considering some of the tactics they are going to use, will undermine the peaceful protestors that are not affiliated with them. Imagine that, Alex was investigating the unoriginal and violent R68′ers (the idiocy of levitating a building has been done in ’67), and ends up catching a lot bigger fish, Michelle “Send Americans to Internment Camps” Malkin. Now the sheep herders, who are sheep themselves, are spinning and slandering Alex simply because some of the things he says is not palatable and is said in anger. Boohoo. Why don’t you ask the R68′ers about who called for her death? Then again, you can’t debate people who resort to name calling, lying, physical violence, and then offer no reason behind it. A factless label is hardly an argument people.
Of course, maybe we shouldn’t hold someone’s “blog” to such an esteem as a journalist. Sadly, it’s just one big joke where we laugh at each other because we’re on this side or that side. Reminds me of the Chinese Pro-CCP against the Chinese Falung Gong protesters, patheticly in-fighting against themselves, calling for death and violence.

Despite what the media has said on the situation, Alex did not call for the death of Michelle Malkin. You can find out for yourself if you scroll to the 57 sec mark and then play it. You will find that it was the guy in the green shirt in the winged hat that had made those claims, then tried to buddy with Alex and other protesters to pass the blame on them, especially when he wraps his arm around Alex and said he saw Alex in Chicago (whether or not that statement he said was true). I will admit it took me several times to confirm that due to the ambient noise and their voices sounding similar.
