DNC Sunday: Protest on the Capitol Steps

Good thing we had lots of memory sticks and batteries – the protest at the Capitol building this morning was chock full of stars from the moonbat firmament. (Check out the YouTube channel for antiamericanism-rich speeches by lamebrain luminaries like Ward Churchill, Cynthia McKinney, Cindy Sheehan, and others.)

An interesting fashion statement…one that says “I hate you Dad! Can I get an advance on my allowance?”

“I can’t see anything with these new Medicare glasses. I blame George Bush!”

This guy was convinced that everyone was a junkie…and he said so…loudly…and repeatedly…

A gaggle of moonbats gathered into a cooing circle of adulation around someone…but who could it be?

Aha! It’s Mother Sheehan, everyone’s favorite moonbat, and our first celebrity of the day!
Happily, the antidote to an unexpected Sheehan encounter was right behind me. Rowr.

The usual protest signs were out…

…with this rather revealing association:

…which presented a somewhat, er, “one sided” message:

Attention to detail: FAIL.
But the press was out in full force — more journalists than protestors at one point:

Another staple of war protests, the kaffiyeh, was also in evidence, though somewhat less than usual…

…along with Palestinian flags, which outnumbered the American ones:

This was perfectly consistent with the speakers, who condemned Israel nearly as often and nearly as aggressively as they did their own country.
More common than the kaffiyeh were bandanas and balaclavas…

…including this guy from Recreate68, guarding the stage (ooooooh, scaaaaaary):

And speaking of kaffiyehs and speakers, Cynthia McKinney was there with hers:

Who else was there? Well, there was also Ward Churchill:

…the Borg Queen a woman from the New Black Panther Party, whose addled and incoherent yet feverishly anti-American ravings I now regret not having captured on video – pure comedy gold:

…the Original Yippie guy, last seen lighting up to the Laverne and Shirley theme song:

…Ron Kovic, who led the crowd in a halfhearted chant of “The whole world is watching!” and other threadbare slogans:

…and Cynthia McKinney’s VP candidate, ranting about the disenfranchisement and oppression of Okkkupied Puerto Rico:

And then there was…WTF?

Hey…weren’t they in that Will Smith/Isaac Asimov movie?

Or maybe it was that ill-considered straight-to-video Planet of the Apes/Halloween crossover.
You’re not fooling anyone with that mask, Dr. Zaius…you’re only scaring the dog…

Meanwhile…

“Sieg Heil! Seig Heil! Er, no, wait…uhh…Power to the People! Power to the People!”

Given the tenor of the event, this guy might as well have been wearing a “McCain 2008″ t-shirt. Luckily, the blood lust of the protestors was diverted around this time by the discovery of a Fox newscrew near the stage, and he was spared the pitchforks of the mob.
After a couple of hours of Five-Minute Hates, the crowd was growing a little bored — and possibly a bit skeptical:

But it’s a sure and welcome sign that a protest is nearing its end when the inevitable “hip-hop artist” is trotted out to fire up the crowd for the march…

…and the cops on bicycles show up for crowd control:

Finally, everyone trudged down to Lincoln to start the march…well, everyone but those taking pictures of everyone else:

Oh look, a crowd of hundreds of thousands! Not.

There was a giant inflatable beer bottle for Nader. What the connection is, I couldn’t begin to guess, but I do know that the speakers were uniformly anti-Obama and pro-McKinney, without once mentioning the erstwhile darling of the left-wing third-party movements:

From there the marched snaked lethargically through the city for the rest of the afternoon. I returned home, having fortuitously filled my media card at the very moment the march departed.
Guess: Mayor Chickenp– er, Hickenlooper will soon be revealed by R68′ers as being the head of a nefarious conspiracy intended to disrupt the march and deny the Noble Lefty Dissenters™ their right to free speech by scheduling street striping at a most inopportune time…

What a sorry, sick bunch of loosers. And even worse, in this country! They ought to be kneeded in with the illeagels and sent to Mexico and let them live there for a minimum of 5 years before the begging and repentance begins to start that this country would even *considering* taking them back! And even then only as ag-workers.
What a freeking sorry ass mess they all are. Disgusting.

Interesting pic of Sadr solidarity. You have to ask yourself, why wouldn’t you want to sympathize with an ethnic-cleansing thug?
